ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest green business ideas competition. Their mission is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for those ideas. ClimateLaunchpad is part of the Entrepreneurship offerings of EIT Climate-KIC.

The competition consists of 3 steps:

Step 1: Online Course & Boot Camp
Step 2: Intensive coaching and National Finals (and if applicable Regional Finals)
Step 3: Global Grand Final

The overall winner of the Global Grand Final receives € 10,000, the runner up gets € 5,000 and the idea that comes in third place wins € 2,500. The top 16 teams selected by the jury to perform in the Final Round of the Global Grand Fina, will automatically get direct access to the Climate-KIC ClimateLaunchpad Accelerator, the renowned business school where great ideas grow into great businesses.


ClimateLaunchpad looks for innovative ideas in renewable energy, a sustainable transition in the food chain, a mind shift in urban mobility or any other way to tackle climate change. As long as it’s in the cleantech domain: “a scientific innovation that uses existing technology to do more with fewer resources, and has a commercial driver.” 

The local partner in Ukraine is Greencubator.

Enterprise Europe Network

Enterprise Europe Network is a global network covering 70 countries all over the world. It has over 600 business associations, about 20,000 business offers and innovation technology. Each year, EEN organizes about 700 business events and b2b meetings, where entrepreneurs are looking for business partners worldwide.

EEN offers a wide range of services:

  • Search for business partners and buyers of their products;
  • Place and track commercial offers;
  • Promote their innovative technologies to the EU markets;
  • Search and attract modern innovative technologies from abroad;
  • Search for investors and partners in the EU to create joint enterprises.

Ukraine joined the Enterprise Europe Network in July 2017. For this purpose it created the consortium of the EEN-Ukraine, which included scientific organizations, representatives of business and government agencies. It became possible due to COSME program funded by the European Commission and contributes to the competitiveness and innovative development of small and medium-sized business and innovative organizations.


eō Business Incubators

Batch 6 application deadline: March 15, 2021

The eō Business Incubators comprise Ukraine’s premier seed-stage mentor-driven incubator program. At its core is an intensive 4-month curriculum designed to support technologists and entrepreneurs in launching and scaling their industry-changing technology businesses.
Incubated businesses will join expert-led sessions covering all the fundamentals, from ideation to fundraising, with real-world mentorship by Ukrainian and global entrepreneurs and investors.
Fundamental to the Incubators is a collaborative network – an ecosystem – that brings together a range of affected stakeholders. This “Ukrainian-owned” collaborative process, facilitated by the USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP), will help grow the platform on which Ukraine’s newly-emerging tech businesses can compete globally.
Incubator participants receive:
  • Expert-led sessions covering all the fundamentals, from ideation to fundraising;
  • Expert mentorship from Ukrainian and global entrepreneurs and investors who will provide hands-on support and introductions;
  • Access to a global network of mentors, partners, and experts;
  • Opportunities to meet angel and VC investors, including through a “demo day” that celebrates your achievements with investors, corporates, mentors, and press attendees; and
  • Continued post-program support, after the 4-month program is completed, through alumni-only events and introductions.


GIST Innovates Ukraine

The U.S. State Department Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs GIST initiative offers the GIST program with a goal of providing science and technology innovators throughout Ukraine with the training, mentoring and resources they need to bring their ideas out of the laboratory and into the market.

GIST Innovates Ukraine is a ten-week pre-accelerator training program modeled after the Lean Startup methodology. Through an in-depth customer discovery process, early-stage entrepreneurs will identify and evaluate opportunities for their venture and make informed decisions on how best to move their idea forward. The program provides innovators with the training, mentoring, and resources they need to build their entrepreneurial skills and bring their ideas out of the university lab and into the market.

This program is implemented by VentureWell in partnership with the University of Georgia and the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation.

Global Cleantech Innovation Programme for SMEs in Ukraine

Applications deadline for 4th wave of GCIP Ukraine National Cleantech Competition: March 19, 2021

GCIP Ukraine is part of a global initiative aimed at promoting innovative technologies and creating an ecosystem to support innovative entrepreneurship. Since January 2019, UNIDO, with the support of the GEF, has started implementing the Project in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the State Innovative Financial Credit Facility. The project is in line with the national policy priorities of Ukraine and the GEF

The project aims to create low-carbon economic growth by promoting clean technology innovations and entrepreneurship through a cleantech innovation platform and accelerator programme from the GCIP Ukraine Business Academy.

Festival of Innovation

The Ukrainian Innovation Festival is a traditional annual event for ambitious representatives of the innovation sector. The event is devoted to the popularization of developments of Ukrainian scientists and innovators, as well as the attraction of investors to the development of promising projects. It is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

IT Arena Startup Competition

Date: October 8-10, 2020 (Lviv, Ukraine)

This 3-day conference includes a Startup Competition where teams compete for $21,000 in cash awards, mentorship and other prizes.

LvBS Center for Entrepreneurship

The Lviv Business School Center for Entrepreneurship is a newly established accelerator for startups and an educational platform for students and young entrepreneurs in Ukraine. Their goal is to give teams and students the tools and the knowledge to raise their startup literacy and as a result have a better chance to build a successful business as well as implement processes designed to develop new capabilities through a range of practical and inspirational training and support activities that will foster and realize tangible innovation outputs.

They offer an acceleration program for social entrepreneurs, pre-acceleration (June 2020 start) and acceleration (Ed Tech, Digital Marketing Tech, Food Tech) programs.

National Startup Competition Ukraine

The winner of the National Startup Competition Ukraine 2021 will represent the country at University Startup World Cup organized by Venture Cup Denmark and Venture Cup China

Startups can be in the early stages of implementation as well as in the growth stage. Teams consist of university students or recent graduate within 2 years.

Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge

Spark Startup Center - Kharkiv

SPARK is an innovation and entrepreneurship center at Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.

Organized by UF Incubator, the winner of the Startup World Cup Competition Ukraine regional final will have an opportunity to pitch their project at the annual global conference and competition organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures in San Francisco.

UF Incubator

Startup school business incubator program application deadline: October 30, 2020

UF Incubator (Ukrainian Future Incubator), an initiative of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the auspices of UNESCO, is a business incubator that helps turn an idea into a commercially successful startup. They offer participants modern educational business programs; help with the creation of a startup team, search for investments and technical support of the project; provide mentoring from successful and experienced entrepreneurs, as well as access to coworking and prototyping labs, where inventors will be able to create layouts and working models of their projects.

UF Incubator is open to students and graduates of the Junior Academy of Sciences, participants of the "Future of Ukraine" competition and other competitions of innovative projects, and on a competitive basis anyone who has an innovative idea and wants to turn it into a profitable business.

Priority areas: mechanical engineering; electronics and instruments; materials science; information and telecommunication systems and technologies; ecology and resource conservation; robotics; biotechnology; technical creativity and invention.



Ukrainian Startup Fund

USF was launched by the Ukrainian Government to promote the creation and development of technology startups in the early stages of development in order to increase their global competitiveness. They provide grants of $25,000 and $50,000.

Vernadsky Challenge

2020 Vernadsky Challenge finals: May 2021

Vernadsky Challenge is an engineering startup contest that searches for innovative hardware in:

  •  space technologies: rockets, launch mechanics, satellites, space engineering, AI for aerospace and anything that can bring us closer to space
  •  active bioelectronics: medical devices that make the human body plugged into it improved and healthier. This device can restore lost functions, replace lost organs or limbs, or it can be any specialized technology.

Examples of active bioelectronics projects:

The 2020 Vernadsky Challenge finals will be held in May 2021, as part of the XII International Aviation and Space Salon “AVIASVIT-XXI”.  Ten finalists will compete for the grant funding equivalent to 2M UAH (≈70K USD).
