On Oct. 22, 2019 the Department of Technology of Biologically Active Substances, Pharmacy and Biotechnology of Lviv Polytechnic University held its 77th Student Scientific and Technical Conference.
Thirty students – 19 bachelor’s and 11 master’s degree – gave presentations in four sections: research initiatives, theoretical work, research and development, and master’s research.
Roksolana Vanko was awarded first place for her report “Synthesis of silver nanoparticles in extracts of plants of the genus Phlomis” (scientific advisor – Assoc. Prof. R.T. Konechna). She will represent the department at the student scientific and technical conference of the university’s Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology on Nov. 5, 2019.
The following students were selected as winners in each of the sections:
Dmytro Kiyiv - Fungicidal properties and growth regulatory effect of ethylthiosulfate and tween complex (scientific advisor – Assoc. Prof. O.Z. Komarovska-Porokhniavets)
Oleksiy Kurylo – Potential of 3D bioprinting for organ replacement (scientific advisor – Assoc. Prof. A.O. Mylianych)
Maria Muzyka - Development of hydrogel cosmetic mask with Calendula officinalis extract (scientific advisor – Assoc. Prof. R.O. Petrina)
Olha Voitsekhivska - Synthesis and biological activity of heterocyclic derivatives of 1.4-naphthoquinone (scientific advisor – Assoc. Prof. N.L. Marintsova)
The winning students received gift certificates from the US-Ukraine Foundation Biotech Initiative.
